Hamilton House Mailings plc was formed by Tony Attwood in 1981.  The first Hamilton House company was Hamilton House Publishing which published a series of trade directories, and a series of careers books.  The bulk of the company was sold in 1984, and staff and management who remained behind after the sale created Hamilton House Mailings.

For the first five years of its life Hamilton House exclusively dealt in the world of marketing to schools, before adding other government services to its list, followed by business to business mailings.

In 1998 the company moved to new premises in Corby, Northants, alongside other companies within the Hamilton House group.

The group of companies under the Hamilton House umbrella currently includes
